The current wave — rechargeable pucks and basins with "OH-ion" or "hydroxyl" cleaning claims — circulates water around your produce, sometimes with electrolysis that manufacturers say breaks down surface residues. Movement in water does loosen dirt; that part's real. What the marketing implies beyond that — pesticide "purification," sanitization percentages — generally traces back to the manufacturers themselves, not independent food-safety bodies. When a $40 gadget's headline benefit is "it stirs water," the price is the feature.

Electrolyzed water is real chemistry used in some commercial settings — but a rechargeable consumer puck is not a lab process, and independent verification of the consumer devices' claims is thin. Healthy skepticism is the right setting.
A short soak with baking soda has some research support for certain surface pesticide residues — it's the cheapest "extra step" with actual evidence behind it. Rinse after.
